In The Moments Happy Thanksgiving
through December 2021
I am so very grateful for all the prayers that been offered to our Father. He has answered in many ways. My heart rejoices at His, and your faithfulness and love.
Singing HIS praises… with short notice, I reserved the party room for our 1st ISI Thanksgiving themed Party for the internationals in my apartment building…I only got RSVPs from the two families on my floor. But the day of the party another from the building came, plus some of the students I’ve been helping with furniture and household stuff. It was great to have a new volunteer who also brought her boyfriend and her brother. Two of my faithful volunteers came and we had a wonderful time together. We had the nations of China, India, Libya, Morocco, Nigeria and Uganda represented! Awesome, considering finals were only a week away. The 3 little people didn’t care about that. I look forward to connecting with these students during December.
Remember the several students in crisis?
✓ God provided a new roommate for my new Ugandan friend - now the landlord is happy & she’s relieved of the burden of full rent for a 2br apt. They are both students & both Believers!
✓ I’ve helped my friend Oriol sort and pack much of their belongings, shipping many boxes to the Philippines. In doing so, we’ve been able to bless several new students with much needed kitchen- ware and furniture. Blessed to be a blessing! Thanks Barb for posting online the Big furniture for us…another blessing.
✓ Oriol’s Visa was finally granted and arrived a week ago. All the furniture has been given away to new homes. Pray as I have dinner with him on Sunday, the 28th I’m giving him a Bible & a letter. Pray he will truly dive into the Word of God, to fully surrender his life to Jesus, and teach his Filipino family to walk deeply with Jesus.
✓ Extra: met 3 more internationals this week! None of these above came out of the Bridges events – which tips that hundreds of students are not being reached. Please pray for more openings.
PRAYER:
ISI & Bridges Int’l met together, a couple of days ago to seriously talk about collaborating in international student ministry (ISM) for Metro Denver. We all agreed…we must work together to see all the students reached. Pray.
GivingTuesday, November 30, is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of radical generosity. People can give prayers, time, or monetary gifts on November 30 as a way of celebrating this event. https://internationalstudents.org/team/laura-compton/ or use this With all that has happened in the past few years, I am short $700 a month.
Please keep praying for God’s appointment of a new director of the International Office at DU.
Haven’t heard from Z (in China) if her Bible arrived yet. Pray she gets it or if confiscated? Pray someone would secretly be reading it!
24/7 Prayer Week for ISM: January 9-16, 2022 we will blanket international student ministry all over the world in concerted prayer. Mark your calendar to join us for this special week to begin the new year in 24/7 prayer. More details next month on 1-hour slots to fill the week (you may join a Zoom prayer group)
Praying you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with those dear to your heart!
Celebrating Jesus, the greatest gift of all!
